Watch Part of the American Remake of Spaced

The title alone might have been enough for some of you, but for others, a history lesson: before Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, Simon Pegg, Jessica Haynes (nee Stevenson) and Edgar Wright did a fantastic TV show called Spaced, where two platonic friends pretended to be married to rent a flat and the hi jinks of these two slackers and their friends. If you’ve never seen it, you can check it out on Hulu. Anyway, in 2007-2008, McG, your favorite three letter named director, started working on an American remake, where he basically slapped Pegg and Wright’s name on the screen and tried to capitalize on their recent film success, leaving Haynes out entirely. The pilot got nixed after terrible reviews (Wright refers to it as “McSpaced”), but thanks to the blog Waste of Baco you can get a taste of the terrible below. [UPDATE: The clip came from actor Federico Dordei, who plays Christian, (Brain in the original) as part of several reels to showcase his acting abilities on YouTube.] Fans really need to prepare themselves, it’s that bad.
