Last summer, the collaboration between Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse, Dark Night of the Soul, hit a little problem when the former got into a dispute with label EMI. The album leaked, and a companion book with photos by David Lynch came with a blank CD-R and a note telling you to “use it as you will.” Well now, BBC6 Music is reporting that Danger Mouse and EMI have set aside their differences, and are aiming for a June release for the project that features contributions from Wayne Coyne, Julian Casablancas, Frank Black, Iggy Pop, and many others. Having heard said previous link, I can say it will be really nice to have a higher quality version of the record, which is a lot of fun. In the meantime, Danger Mouse says he’s focusing on his collaboration with the Shin’s James Mercer, Broken Bells, which has it’s official release next Tuesday, March 9.
