On April 6, Kil Rock Stars will reissue Elliott Smith’s first and final releases, 1994′s Roman Candle and 2004′s From a Basement on the Hill with the former being remastered. The remastering work was done by Roger Seibel and Larry Crane, editor of Tape Op Magazine and archivist for Elliott’s family, and was largely done to improve the sound quality of the record while maintaining its lo-fi fidelity. To celebrate the reissues, Kil Rock Stars has offered up a track from each to sample. The label had previously offered up an unreleased track “Cecilla/Amanda” which was recorded in 1997.
